The Vermont 251 Quest

By

I read about the 251 Club of Vermont in the Burlington Free Press a couple of days ago. There was a story about a couple of college girls who were trying to visit all 251 towns in Vermont together. The story struck a chord with me. I decided that this was something that Ben and I had to do. And luckily for me, he agreed! The idea is to visit each town/city in Vermont, and somehow document that you were there. Now, we drive through towns all the time. Do we take the time to look at them, to see what they have to offer? Generally, no. You just cruise through, paying little or no attention. Until we decided to try this, I never thought about the stuff that we could be missing. We’ve only been out one afternoon exploring, and we’ve already found towns I had no idea even…

8th of November

By

So this has NOTHING at all to do with Vermont. But, on my old blog, A Mom and Her Blog (which died a sad death), this was a tradition. And I just realized the date, and decided that maybe I’d keep it going, in a new home. It’s the 8th of November….a good day to remember those that fought, so long ago…and gave their lives, so that others could be free. Just remember.

Moose on the Loose #bvtmoose

By far the most fun I’ve ever had at work was following the Moose On The Loose! Just really sad that he didn’t decide to visit the downtown area. I tried to take an early lunch to go moose hunting, but the bank was not sympathetic. WCAX.COM Local Vermont News, Weather and Sports- #bvtmoose

Vermont City Marathon 2013

Vermont City Marathon

By

The Vermont City Marathon is a huge deal around here. Runners come from all over New England to participate. For the third straight year, we were able to cheer the runners on from our front porch. This year was a bit different from previous years. Usually in May, it’s fairly warm, and you can hope for sunshine. Not this year. It was in the 40s and pouring when the race began. The rain let up from time to time, but for the most part, it was a cold, windy run. But it doesn’t seem to have kept the runners away….about 8000 people participated! As always, Ben got some wonderful pictures. Click on the thumbnail for a larger image.
