CAN A LITTER BOX CHANGE A LIFE?
CAN A LITTER BOX CHANGE A LIFE?
After a cat has been adopted, they don’t say..”let me just grab my suitcase” or “can we swing by my storage unit.”
They literally have only the fur on their backs…that’s it.
That is, until now.

With the help of my person, we made fur-ever home starter boxes and paid the adoption fee for two special kitties at our local shelter. Nelly and Maude were two senior ladies that had been living at the shelter longer than anyone else.
We began by brainstorming a list and gathering the essentials…litter boxes, bowls, toys, treats. BUT something was missing…a handmade touch.
It seemed obvious. What is the one thing cats can’t resist? A blanket. We chose our favorite feline themed fabric and sewed a blanket for both girls.

After the blankets were finished, it was assembly time.
We used the litter box as the base (yes, they were new!) and included these supplies:
- Poop scoop
- Bowls
- Treats
- Can of food
- Food covers
- Toys
- Scratching pad
- Blanket

A gift wouldn’t be complete if it wasn’t decked out with some ribbon and pretty packaging.

I couldn’t stop admiring the boxes when they were done. I knew the girls were going to love them.

My person delivered the boxes to the shelter and they were very well received. Nelly and Maude won’t be going to their new homes empty handed!
So can a litter box change a life? I’d say the answer is YES.
As a former stray, I know the feeling of having nothing. Something as simple as a litter box seems like luxury when you have nothing else.
**Update** After spending months at the shelter, Nelly and Maude were both adopted on February 9th. I couldn’t be happier for them!
Meow,
Odie
