MY FIRST DENTIST APPOINTMENT
Hi friends! I had my first dentist appointment on May 3rd and it was an eventful day to say the least.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect as I sat in my carrier in the lobby of the vet and exchanged meows with another cat across the room.
I thought I was going in for a simple teeth cleaning, but that was far from the only thing that happened during my visit.
My legs were shaved, my claws were trimmed, the glands in my rear were emptied, and I had 4 teeth pulled.
4 TEETH!! My canine was broken and three others had lesions.
The gland cleaning was my own fault. The night before my appointment, I made the mistake of scooting around the living room on my butt. My person alerted the vet and then they were all up in my personal space emptying the glands. I won’t make that mistake again!
I had pain medicine for three days after my visit and only wet food for a week.
It seems I have healed as expected, but I have a follow up appointment on Thursday to make sure…at least that’s why I think I’m going, after that last visit I can’t be certain!
